"Great "

"We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay at The Waterfront. The hotel itself is clean, modern and has good facilities. There is an inside pool, jacuzzi and gym on the 10th floor as well as rooftop bar and an outside terrace which opens in the summer months. I have to say what makes it special is the staff that work here, they go out of their way to make you feel valued and welcome. Breakfast was great, with a huge choice of hot and cold options available. Special mention to Olena at breakfast who always made a point of saying hello and asking how we were getting on during our stay. It was my 50th birthday celebrations and they allocated us a nicer room and had decorated it before our arrival. The other added bonus is access to the Aqua Luna outside pool over the road. This is also a nice place to relax and chill which charges non Waterfront guests 30 euros per day to use, so it’s a useful perk to staying here. I highly recommend staying here it really is a superb place to stay."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this characterful property. The staff, location, breakfast are amazing. The building is old so some limitations (e.g. poor ventilation) are understandable. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The room (19) was spacious, beautiful and had everything we needed. The daily breakfast on the sunny rooftop was amazing. Thoroughly recommend this guest house."

"Good sized family suite. Balcony a bit small for 2 bedroom and overlooking housing means no privacy but it's still really nice to have the space to sit out for breakfast. Hotel is pretty new and so in really good condition. Food in cafe reasonable prices approx 15€ for a main meal dish. Spa was excellent."

"Great stay"

"The hotel is 3 star and I feel like the stay was a three star stay. It has what you need but also has some odd choices. The room looked really nice (the bathroom is a bit small but it is what it is) and I had a balcony with a sea view which I would incredibly recommend because the non-sea view balconies we're just looking at each other. Just be aware that there is a busy road between the hotel and the bay, so there's lots of car noise. The rooftop pool and rooftop area were undergoing maintenance but we could use another hotels facilities. Strangely, you had to use the outdoor pool of one and the indoor pool and gym of another. Also the listing shows a swimming pool right on the bay, but you have to pay extra. The construction started at 8am on weekdays which I thought was a bit unnecessarily early for a hotel and I could hear the noise even though I was only halfway up the building. The breakfast was fine - a decent array of options but often cold and you weren't allowed to take away any water. The air conditioning was not on and when I asked why, they said it was on heat mode for the whole building, which didn't make much sense to me. I got by with opening the door to the balcony but it was loud. There are also some small oddities like the fact that you have to rent a lock for the safe rather than just having them built in. Ultimately, as long as you are aware that this is a cheap option with a really nice view, good location, and okay amenities, then you'll be fine."

"We stayed at AX The Palace for a week with 2 children in a family room, which was quite big, with a huge bed for the parents and a sofa bed for the kids. Breakfast was excellent with everything you can think of (from cereals to cooked English breakfast, from vegetables and plenty of salads to fruit and desserts). The indoor swimming pool was a great addition, and we used it daily especially in the afternoons, after exploring Malta during the day. The outdoor pool was a bit chilly for April, but in the summer it must be amazing. As we booked half board we also had 7 dinners. Although the food was great, it felt a bit repetitive on some days. The staff were all fantastic, very helpful and attentive. Location of the hotel is also amazing - in the heart of Sliema, minutes walk from the Valletta ferry and plenty of cafes and restaurant around as well. We used the indoor swimming pool daily in the afternoons, after exploring Malta during the day. The outdoor pool was bigger but it was a bit chilly for us to make use of it on most days. We are sure it's amazing in the summer! "
