Ryokan in Central Region

"The staff made this stay excellent - especially Santiago who checked us in and was happy to recommend local eateries for us upon request. The room was spacious and the spa / pool facilities were excellent. There are only few niggles that could do with improvement: the lighting within the room, the availability of room air conditioning year round and a more extensive breakfast (greater fruit availability). That being said, we would definitely return. Truly the staff were so hospitable and kind, and the spa facilities were impressive particularly at the price point. "

"Everything is excellent. Food quality and range of food for dinner and breakfast. Amazing. Very nice stuff. Very clean. Close to all transportation routes. Easy access to Valletta by ferry. Next to the hotel there is a huge modern shopping centre. Gym is amazing. Pool/ sauna is so so but just fine. "

"The hotel is lovely and clean. Staff were friendly & helpful. They provide you with water, coffee & tea in your room which was a great touch. Breakfast was really good with a beautiful view. My only criticism was how much building work was going on where the hotel was situated, which isn’t the hotels fault at all hence why I’m not lowering the rating but is just a heads up for other guests. The balcony we had was very spacious and clean though. The hotel is situated walking distance to various shops, restaurants & bars. "

"Good location, easy to walk to restaurants and shops, and only a five minute walk to the €3 boat to Valletta and the Gozo/Blue Lagoon cruises. The pool isn’t on site, it’s a 100m walk down to the main road and on the other side. It’s very nice but it’s a public pool that guests have free access to, so the photos are misleading. It was a good sized room and the shower was great. It wasn’t quiet though, we could hear the people above and next to us, as well as the breakfast room and the main entrance door creaking below us, so if you’re a light sleeper take ear plugs. "

"Great location! It is separate from the Strand hotel located on the main road, but you are still able to use the main hotels facilities. I had a family room, good space, clean and with a balcony. "

"Rooms are clean, spacious, neatly decorated and comfortable. Room service is impeccable, timely, and attentive. Staff are respectful, prompt, professional, and caring. But besides the physical stay, Helen, working at the reception, made our stay truly wonderful. Helen ensured we were properly taken care of, extending well beyond what we had expected, providing us with the best experience we've had at a hotel, ever. Not only was she approachable, she was happy to talk us through local attractions, restaurants, and even further outside of the Sliema. We are not the only ones who shared this sentiment, many of the other guests also frequently thanked Helen specifically, indicating that we did not receive special treatment, she really does go above and beyond for everyone. Helen is the type of person that we pray we see whenever we stay at a hotel, a true ray of sunshine and a real diamond in your staff line-up. If I worked for the Marriott company, I would make her package so competitive that she could not be poached by another company. We would stay at the Courtyard again without question, especially if Helen is there."
