"It was fine. There were typical maintenance issues because people bang suitcases into doorways in ways they wouldn’t at their own home. The rusty looking spots at the very bottom of the bathroom door frame (room 301) are seen at many hotels, across many chains. That doesn’t make me like it any better, but it’s not something specific for this hotel or chain. It’s Louisiana, it’s humid as hell, I’m glad the bed was fairly comfortable and the a/c was cold. We had five pillows, but they seemed kid size, not queen size.
There was a comfy chair and mini fridge and microwave, so you were able to have some waters and not have to just sit on the bed. Closet space was standard. I don’t remember seeing a safe though.
Breakfast was the usual. Both mornings there were some apples and bananas, scrambled eggs, little sausage patties, biscuits (very dense!), coffee/tea, juice, milk, cereal, a waffle iron (FYI- the four small ones come out better than the larger), yogurt, bagels, some mini muffins and pastries, lots of condiments. You can definitely figure out a way to get something in your belly.
The water pressure in the bathroom could have been better. It was meh. After moving my child into university, a REAL shower would have been more appreciated than just getting wet.
And this particular hotel gave us a coupon for dinner at the restaurant next door, so it was used and appreciated.
The staff was excellent. Ruston is a sweet gem of a place. I’ll be back plenty over the next few years."
"This is a very new hotel and in my opinion, it is by far, the cleanest and nicest in town. We will stay here again in the future on our next trip to Ruston and Tech."
