Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Ahangama holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are good options. If you intend to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are flat and easy to take on and off.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
