We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you’ll be zooming through airport security and having a blast in Arklow before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a stress-free flight experience is to be prepared. So, let’s start with the basics: passport, travel documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, bring on board items that’ll help pass the time, like some electronic devices or a thrilling novel. It’s also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earphones. And of course, don’t forget to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, deodorant and a spare change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when selecting what to wear on your flight. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a smart option.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce the risk.
