Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Aurland could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
