Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Ban Lung holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are good options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise option, as are flat, slightly roomy shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
