Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Beykoz escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, official ID, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are good options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to take on and off.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
