- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object lurking in your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when choosing what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of flying. Roomy, closed-toed shoes are your best bet.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks may also help.
