We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through airport security and enjoying Chamberlain in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm other people, such as guns and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and opt for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
