Depending on where you’re coming from, your journey to Chiang Mai could be simple and straightforward or it could go on forever. We’ve compiled some tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an amazing flight experience is to pack ahead. So, let’s start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, bring on board items that’ll help pass the time, like some electronic gadgets or a good read. You’ll also want to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Last but not least, don’t forget to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no fashion runway. Wear comfortable clothes and pack a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce your risk.
