No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Chos Malal holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like ski poles, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
