We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a ball in Colliers Bay before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
