No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will get your Dong Ha escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and pick flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
