Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your East Mani escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite shows are some great options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
