If you're not prepared, travelling can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a pleasant start to your holiday in Gibbes. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and something to read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
