We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and seeing the best of Goya in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer up in natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to pack a sweater just in case you get chilly. Always opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a pair of compression socks may also help.
