- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your bag for your phone and charger, your medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart option, as are flat, slightly roomy shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
