Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Haridwar holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, travel docs, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items to ensure you touchdown feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and go for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to remove.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
