If you’re poorly prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But don’t hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a comfortable start to your holiday in Harzgerode. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you take the right stuff. First of all you’ll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don’t have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and remember to take a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There’s lots you can do to lessen your risk. Don a pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water often and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
