Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Hobart could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some useful hints that will help you start your next great escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your feet and legs moving.
