No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Holte holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Next, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of a plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin. Flat, enclosed shoes are also recommended.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks is also a wise idea.
