Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Horubadhoo Island escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy --- first, pack your passport, travel docs, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and remember to take a cardigan as it tends to get cool in the cabin during long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
