Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Huancabamba could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've put together some handy tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel docs, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and wear easy-to-remove shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
