Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Hwange National Park holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
