We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a blast in Ilawa before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you carry the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your important medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
