Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your Ita escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free flight experience is to plan ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, travel documents, bank cards and any vital medications. Next, bring items that'll help pass the time, like your laptop or a few magazines. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, don't forget to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
