Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Kasol holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you bring the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and objects that could injure passengers, such as guns and swords, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by layering up, and wear flat, closed-toe shoes like slip-ons.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
