Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Kelowna holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and choose shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
