We’ve rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you’ll be hightailing it through the airport and seeing the best of Kolkata before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you take the right stuff. First of all you’ll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight is as simple as your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left in your suitcase. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you for it.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help reduce this risk.
