Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Kragero holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice of clothes. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you later.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. But the great news is there are proven ways to significantly reduce your risk of developing it. Drink plenty of water, walk around the cabin as much as possible and wear compression tights or socks.
