We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and seeing the best of Kuusamo in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
