We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you’ll be hightailing it through the airport and seeing the best of Lagoa in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you’ll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some great options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your priority when selecting what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear choice with care too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common side effect of flying. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
