Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of top travel tips that will get your Le Mans escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an amazing flight experience is to be prepared. Start with the essentials: passport, travel docs, bank cards and daily medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic gadgets or a good book. It's also a wise idea to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earphones. And of course, be sure to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks is also recommended.
