Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Malta could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some handy travel tips that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a pleasure if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
