If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a hassle-free start to your holiday in Mammoth Cave. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite shows are some great options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and pack a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin on long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks is also recommended.
