Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Mersing holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, important documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
