Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Moga escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great flight experience is to plan ahead. So, let's start with the basics: passport, boarding pass, cash and medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you busy, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling novel. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. And of course, be sure to squeeze in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm passengers, such as guns and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and take a sweater in case it gets cool in the cabin. Pick a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your luggage.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There's lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
