Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Mountain Home escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a worry-free travel experience is to pack ahead. So, let's start with the basics: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a good read. It's also wise to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Last but not least, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, deodorant and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and choose shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
