If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be daunting. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a pain-free start to your time in Nazaré. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
