Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to New Town could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've put together some tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your laptop, a charger, medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and choose shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
