We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and exploring Orange Beach before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
