Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Osbourn escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good read. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
