We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and discovering Ota in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, official ID, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are always good options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and go for shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
