We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and enjoying Paihia before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel docs, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are flat and easy to remove.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
