If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But there's no need to worry. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a stress-free start to your time in Príncipe Island. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, fireworks and fuel. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
