We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in Puerto Libertad in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
