Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Puzi holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight is as simple as your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will appreciate it.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks is also a wise idea.
