We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and exploring Red River in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, official ID, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favourite shows are some great options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll touchdown feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
