If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be a real challenge. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a stress-free start to your holiday in Saint Martin's Island. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Don layers of breathable clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin. Pick well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- It's likely you've heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lessen your risk. Wear compression socks or tights, stay well hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk the aisles of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
